A native of Okemos, Michigan, Elizabeth received a B.A. from the University of Michigan, putting herself through graduate school (in Anthropology) working as an illustrator for the now sadly defunct Ann Arbor News. Subsequently she moved to Palo Alto, California, and continued as a newspaper illustrator and designer, working with the San Francisco Chronicle for a number of years before becoming a fulltime freelancer.
Elizabeth initially focused on illustration, working on a wide variety of assignments and commissions including book covers, portraits, theatre posters, and editorial illustration for clients in North America and Europe. More recently she switched her emphasis to graphic and web design, especially on marketing and design for arts organizations, musicians and small businesses - although still taking on select illustration projects.
She is the recipient of awards from many organizations including Graphis, Communication Arts, and The Society of Newspaper Design. Her sole mural, which includes secret portraits of her three children, can be found in the midtown area of Palo Alto.
