Dr. Gabrin was the first ER physician to die from Covid-19 in the U.S., almost certainly because he was forced to wear the same mask for days in a row. ARTHOUSE.NYC asked me to do a portrait of him for The Hero Art Project, an exhibition honoring those on the front lines who have died of the disease.
